It’s that time of year again! Students are getting back to classes and CPRS is ramping up events and preparations for another exciting year. This year part of that excitement includes our announcement of a partnership with the Communications + Public Relations Foundation in the establishment of a new student scholarship. The $1,000 Calgary Legacy Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student studying public relations/communications in a recognized program at one of Mount Royal University, the University of Calgary or SAIT Polytechnic.
The application form is in the final stages of development and will be available to students shortly. The deadline to apply for this year’s award is February 29, 2012 with the winner announced in April. Students apply through the foundation, but information with links to the application form will be available on the CPRS Calgary website.
CPRS Calgary is happy to offer this scholarship to students as part of its support for the student program and endorsement of the public relations profession. Students must be members of CPRS Calgary and have completed one year of study to apply for the scholarship.
CPRS is also pleased to work with the Canada-wide Communications + Public Relations Foundation, a group that brings an array of expertise and experience in many areas including scholarships and awards.
A special note of thanks goes out to all the individuals who helped organize the details behind the scholarship including students, CPRS members, Life Members of CPRS and the Communications + Public Relations Foundation.
