City of Calgary’s new media room

I had a chance to visit the City of Calgary’s new media room today and I was impressed. Engaging in a conversation with citizens over Twitter about snow removal, or lack thereof, would send shivers up the spines of less progressive public servants and their political handlers. People are talking about your organization online, even if you aren’t listening so kudos to the City of Calgary for its ear-to-the-ground approach. The two-way symmetrical conversation academics and practitioners have been talking about for years is on its way thanks to Web 2.0.
